VISIT PINEDALE | LATE SUMMER BACKPACKING | SEPTEMBER 2019
Photography, Styling, Direction, Post-Production
The Wind River Range: a bucket-list item in any savvy Rocky Mountain backpacker’s notebook. A wild and untamed wilderness, the Winds are home to Wyoming’s tallest mountain, Gannett Peak, which watches over the state at 13,809’. Many of the tourists that find themselves in Pinedale, Wyoming are there with a very specific mission: groceries, one last cup of non-cowboy coffee at Pine Coffee Supply, and the “oops” pieces from the local gear shop.
Backpacking, the Winds, and Wilderness represent a keystone portion of the summer story in Pinedale. Prior to this excursion, Visit Pinedale lacked vibrant, joyful images to illuminate this important part of their story. Fueled by Nutella and feminine joy, late summer in the Winds came to life on my camera with a group of 5 women on a three-day trip – and they weren’t afraid to get a little bit cheeky about it.
